NAWCAD is one of two product centers within the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). NAVAIR, working with industry, delivers high quality, affordable products and support to the operating forces. Products and services include: aircraft, avionics, air-launched weapons, electronic warfare systems, cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles, launch and arresting gear, training equipment and facilities, and all other equipment related to Navy and Marine Corps air power.

NAVAIR provides total life cycle support of all naval aviation weapon systems including research, design, development, and engineering; acquisition; test & evaluation; training facilities and equipment; repair & modification; and in-service engineering and logistics support. As one of the three principal stakeholders in the Naval Aviation Enterprise (NAE), NAVAIR is responsible for development, acquisition, and life-cycle management for aviation systems
