Helicopter Medical Grade UPS
with
Spray-Proof case
ETI developed an enclosed(NEMA) UPS used to transport patients from the battlefield to field hospitals. Power was taken from the aircraft and converted to Medical Grade power, with battery backup to ensure consistant quality power.
These UPS units were mounted vertically inside helicopters in rugged water resistant NEMA enclosure with air ducts on either side of the box. All of this was mounted to a block of semi-rigid gel for shock isolation. The internal electronics were mounted along one side of the enclosure. This left space to store supported electronics (i.e. comm gear) in the box as well.
These enclosures were designed to protect the electronics inside from water spray when the interior of the aircraft was washed down with high pressure hoses. To do this, the cases included ducts which had internal baffles to prevent water from entering the enclosure when sprayed down.
